About UPPER HOUSE farm
Upper House Farm has been owned by the Butler family for
over 100 years! We have such a strong tie to this area with members of our family named on the war memorial in the village.
The herd of British Longhorns are grazed right here in Middleton by husband and wife; Adam and Harriet and their two young sons.
"We believe in producing sustainable, British beef and are passionate about lowering food miles. Quality food is so important, so why not spend a little more on your Sunday roast, but make it last and treat yourself to some super tasty sandwiches on Monday too!"
"Our longhorns play a harmonious role on the farm alongside cereal production. The cows eat the grass, then the manure from the cows adds essential organic matter and nutrients back into the soil structure harnessing what nature has given us."
"Our herd of Longhorns happily graze the fields around our farm, they are the first thing I see every morning when I open the gates"
Our Story
5th Generation Family-Owned Business
"We moved to Upper Farm House as the 5th generation of the Butler family to farm here.
We are both passionate about our farm and aware of the challenges that the farming industry is facing. Jeremy Clarkson has done a fantastic job showing off our industry but it has also highlighted how important diversifications are in order to continue to thrive. For this reason we have decided to start selling our meat directly to the public.
We purchased our first Longhorns back in 2020 and we've never looked back! They are the most beautiful thing to see grazing around the farm and a part of British History too!"
